When you decide to get pregnant, its so important to prepare yourself physically, mentally and emotionally as pregnancy is an intense roller coaster ride and can leave you feeling a wide range of emotions that can be hard to filter through. I am actually 38 weeks pregnant with my 4th child as I write this, and I can tell you that although I know what to expect from pregnancy, its always an adventure that is unique to every child I bring into the world.
Some important things to consider…

Decide what kind of pregnancy experience and birth you want to have. Talk to other moms, midwives, health care professionals. Do your research, so you can make an informed and empowered decision for yourself!
- Practice mindful eating and be conscious that what you put into your body goes directly to your baby.
- Practice yoga or other forms of stretching and exercise.
- Read good books and journal about your experience.
- Look into birthing classes that support your philosophy and what you want to do to prepare for birthing your baby.
- Figure out ahead of time what kind of parenting you want to do with your baby.
- Know that you are crossing a threshold of womanhood that is a rite of passage and you can do it! Women know how to birth babies and all you need to do is trust yourself, get empowered and know that you will birth your baby perfectly!

As I am discovering Sacred Pregnancy, I came up with some thoughtful ideas to contemplate during pregnancy and reflections that may help you gain perspective on issues that arise for you.
